(HB 1936) To establish liaison between the national member organisations, on the one hand, and the various international unions, on the other; to guide international scientific work in fields where no competent associations exist; through the medium of the national member organisations, to secure contact with the Governments of the member countries with a view to recommending action favourable to the scientific development of those countries.
