Object
The first aim of the Institute is to as complete a bibliography as possible of philosophical literature, including review articles. Furthermore it endeavours to establish contact between scholars working on the same related problems, at the same time eliminating any possibility of unfair advantage being taken of others' research work. The Institute merely informs philosophers if there is a possibility of co-operation and states the name of the scholar in question. It also gives information concerning works already published and forms special bibliographies. The Institute co-operates with the Permanent International Committee in creating effective contact between philosophers in connection with the philosophical congresses held every four years.
