Object

Etablir et maintenir une collaboration scientifique permanente entre les représentants des académies nationales et des Sociétés scientifiques d'agriculture afin de faciliter leurs travaux et de faire mieux apprécier leur activité. Détails du programme de travail : création de bibliothèques et salles de lecture internationales consacrées à l'agriculture; publication d'une bibliographie internationale de l'agriculture; mesures à prendre pour assurer de bonnes traductions des publications agricoles, en particulier de celles qui sont éditées dans les petits pays; fondation d'un journal international à l'usage des chercheurs s'occupant d'agronomie; dispositions à prendre pour améliorer la formation scientifique de la nouvelle génération; faire mieux connaître le travail agricole; organiser la collaboration des instituts scientifiques d'agriculture; mesures à prendre pour assurer une participation plus active des savants et des professeurs dans la direction de la vie agricole; protection plus efficace des droits d'auteur; développement de la critique scientifique internationale et étude de l'histoire internationale du développement de l'agriculture; création d'un grand prix international qui serait décerné tous les ans pour un travail d'un intérêt mondial au point de vue de l'agriculture. (HB 1936) To establish and maintain permanent scientific co-operation between the representatives of national academies and scientific societies of agriculture with a view to facilitating their work and making it better known. Detailed programme: establishment of international agricultural libraries and reading rooms ; publication of an international bibliography of agriculture; steps to be taken to obtain satisfactory translations of agricultural publications, particularly those issued in small countries; foundation of an international journal for agricultural research workers; action with a view to improving the scientific training of the rising generation and to the better appreciation of agricultural work; organisation of co-operation between scientific institutes of agriculture; steps to bring about a more active participation of scientific workers and professors in the organisation of agricultural life; better protection of authors' rights; extension of international scientific criticism and the study of the international history of the progress of agriculture ; establishment of a big international prize to be awarded annually for a work of worldwide interest from an agricultural standpoint. Activities

La présidence, en contact permanent avec les membres du Comité d'organisation, s'efforce de provoquer, dans chaque pays, la fondation d'académies ou de sociétés scientifiques d'agriculture qui deviendraient des centres nationaux de collaboration internationale. Le travail de préparation en vue de la fondation d'organismes nationaux de ce genre est déjà terminé en Bulgarie et en Pologne. Dans d'autres pays, où la situation économique n'est pas assez favorable, on organise actuellement des comités nationaux préparatoires. (HB 1936) The President, who is in permanent contact with the members of the Organising Committee, endeavours to promote in each country the foundation of academies or scientific societies of agriculture to serve as national centres of international cooperation. The preparatory work for founding such national bodies has already "been completed in Bulgaria and Poland. In other countries, where the economic situation is not sufficiently favourable, preparatory national committees are being organised. (HB 1938)
